       Last week, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) in cooperation with the Gymnastics Federation of Serbia, organized a course for Gymnastics for All (GfA) in Novi Sad (Serbia).
        The course was held at the Park Hotel in Novi Sad, with 26 participants from 14 countries of Europe and Africa taking part. The participants represented not just the countries where the GFA is implemented and working already , but countries were the GFA at the moment is just a good idea, and they have plans to start it in their countries.

          On 25TH &26TH  2019 in Lausanne was held a meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG). On that meeting, one of the topics was reviewing the bid proposals to held UEG Executive committee and Presidential Board meetings. The UEG has taken decision that the 3RD UEG Executive Committee meeting 2019 should be hosted in Tbilisi (Georgia).

          Meeting will take place from 28 August to 1 September 2019.

At the Moscow RG Grand Prix 2019, Georgian  RG gymnast Salome Pazhava had taken Bronze  medal  in exercise with the Clubs.

In the All-Around Salome had taken the 6TH place, and  she participated  in   three finals: exercises with the BALL, exercise with the Clubs and  exercises with Hoop.

The best result she got  in the exercise  with the Clubs, were  she got 19,300 points and the 3RD place.

On December 27, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia awarded the best

Georgia's ducation, science, culture and ministry awarded the best representatives in the Georgian sport’s  world of 2018.

   The member of our Federation Mrs. Eliso Bedoshvili, who is the Head coach of the Georgian National team  of  rhythmic gymnastics, and three times world cup winner, and the winner of the European championship in the group (1990), had been awarded with ‘’The best judge of Georgian in 2018’’.

        Last week, the capital of Azerbaijan city of Baku held the FIG Congress. Representatives of all gymnastics federations and affiliated clubs and unions were presented at the congress.  Congress was called to decide some major flagship projects and plans.

Among the delegates was the President of the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation Mr. Konstantin Lashkhi who had some important meetings as with colleagues form other Federations, also, with some FIG and the UEG authorities.

 The Congress had made some decisions, such were for instance:

--the Congress has accepted the creation of an independent ‘’Gymnastics Ethics Foundation’’

--the FIG now counts a total of 148 member federation. The continental distribution is as follows: Europe-50 members, Asia-37 members, the Americas-30 members, Africa-24 members, and Oceania -7 members.

                  Last week, Tbilisi held an International tournament in Artistic gymnastics ‘’VTB CUP’’. Since 2012 year the “VTB Bank Georgia” is the general sponsor of the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation, and this international tournament became an annual one.

                   This year tournament had attracted teams and clubs  from Georgia, Ukraine  and Russia. Georgia had participated with two WAG and  two MAG teams.

               Georgian WAG team had taken the third place in the team competition. And  Georgian MAG team had taken the second  place.

             Georgian senior WAG gymnast Anna Subbotina was second in the All-around completion. She also got medals at the apparatus  finals: gold medals on the Balance beam and Free floor exercise, also, she was second on the Vault and third  on the Uneven bars. Our junior WAG gymnasts : Nino Kakhadze, Mariam Babunashvili, Ani Godabdze and Anano Grigorchuk had participated at the International tournament for the first time.

Portugal’s city of Loule on 3-7 October 2018 held an International tournament in trampoline gymnastics. Gymnasts from more than 25 countries had competed and among them were Georgian gymnasts.

Our gymnasts had taken the 1St place in Team competition. Among the seniors the first place was taken by Nana Gogashvili and the third was taken by Ana Odishvili.

     Last week,  city of Batumi (Georgia) for the fifth  time hosted  the ‘’R. SIKHARULIDZE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT  IN ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS’’. 

      Every year the tournament attracts more and more countries and teams.  This year, 15 teams from 10 countries had competed with about 100 gymnasts all together.  The tournament was held  from 5 to 9 September at the Batumi State University sports hall. The tournament was organized by the Ministry of  Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia,   Ajara and Batumi local authorities, also was managed by the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation and  Gymnastics  Federation of Ajara, and sponsored by the General sponsor of UGGF the Bank ‘’VTB BANK GEORGIA’’.

Last week, 14-16 August, in Batumi (Georgia) was held an International tournament in Trampoline Gymnastics ''Ajara Cup2018''. The tournament was organized with close cooperation of the "Department of Sport and Youth Affairs of Ajara'' and "Gymnastics Federation of Ajara''. The sponsor of the tournament was "Hotel Light House Tbilisi''
