Artistic Gymnastics MAG and WAG National Judges course took place 31 January-2 February 2020 in Tbilisi (Georgia). The course was organized and planned by the UEG. 4 UEG expert judges who had arrived to Tbilisi to educate our National judges were: Mrs.Orna SHAI, Mrs.Christine FRAUENKNECHT, Mr.Jean-François BLANQUINO and Mr.Ilia GOIRGADZE. During the course days experts had given the maximum theoretical information in regards to the current judges' COP rules and also, about the proposed new rules. Also, the judges had some practical exercises and tests. Our judges had many questions, which were fully answered by the experts. All in all , the course was held in a very high professional level by the expert judges. This course helped our judges to make one more step in the right direction of development as the judge with high quality knowledge. We would like to thank the above mentioned expert judges, for their excellent job. Our thank you goes, also, to the UEG and personally to the president Mr. Farid Gayibov. We would like to thank the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia for the help with organisation of the course. Also, we would like to thank the hotels in which our expert judges were staying and were the course was held: Light House Old City and Jazz Hotel.

Last week, 25-26 January, in Vienna (Austria) took place an International tournament in Rhythmic gymnastics ‘’Young Talents Vienna Cup 2020’’. In the tournament had participated rhythmic gymnasts from 18 countries. Among, other gymnasts were our young athletes. Our your gymnasts Elene Bakradze and Mariam Geliashvili had a very successful tournament. Elene Bakradze in the A category (born 2011) took the 1st place in All-Around , also, she won the exercise with HOOP, and she got the second place in the exercise with Clubs. Mariam Gelashvili in the A category (born 2009) took the 3rd place in All-Around , also, she was second in exercise with HOOP, and she got the second place in the exercise with Ball, also, Mariam was awarded with a special prize ‘’ Will to Win’’.

UEG Development Programme 2018/2019 – Support of other projects:
UEG Executive Committee in its’ meeting on Oct. 5th 2018 had accepted our application in UEG Development Programme for the following project:
Artistic Gymnastics MAG and WAG National Judges Courses.
Above mentioned course will take place
31 January-2 February 2020 in Tbilisi (Georgia).
4 UEG expert judges will be sent to educate our National judges:

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia hold an annual award ceremony *The Sportsperson of the Year*. Awards were given out in 11 different categories and also, 10 special prizes were awarded.
For the first time in the history the title of the Best Sportsperson of the Year were given to 6 athletes at once: Lukhum Chkhvimini (Judo), Lasha Talakhdze (Weightlifting), Geno Petriashvili (Free Style Wrestling), Lasha Gobadze (Greek-Roman Wrestling), Beka Lomtadze (Free Style Wrestling), Nugzar Tsurtsumia (Greek-Roman Wrestling).
United Georgian Gymnastics Federation were awarded with one title and one special ward.

The legendary Secretary General of the Federation Mrs. Rusudan Khoperia was awarded with a title of
" The Best Judge of Georgia 2019" .

Today, in Tokyo at the Trampolie WAGC were competing 40 Syncro pairs in 15-16 age category. Among, others were our two pairs: one pair: Mariam Ragimovi and Megi Parulua second pair: Anano Apakidze and Sophio Dashniani. Mariam and Megi's pair could not make it to the Final. Anano and Sophio's pair did a good job and first they got to the final, and finally they had got the 5th place. This is very good result for our young trampoline gymnasts.

A few minutes ago our Federation had received a phone call from the Secretary General Mrs. Rusudan Khoperia, who is at the moment in Tokyo (Japan), and she is judging World Age Group Competition in Trampoline gymnastics. The Secretary General had informed us , that our young gymnasts: Maia Bochoridze and Ana Lapiashvili had won the first place in the ''Women's Synchronised Trampoline - Age Group 1''.

Last week, 30 November-1 December, city of Tbilisi held the 1ST regional tournament in rhythmic gymnastics ''Grand Rhythmic Cup 2019''. Tournament took place in the Newton Free school. 260 gymnasts had competed in the different age groups. The tournaments main aim is to encourage as many children as possible to be involved in rhythmic gymnastics, which means to follow the healthy lifestyle. And of course the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation is always happy to hear about this kind of events , and always encourages member clubs to involve more and more children in the gymnastics. We wish all the best to this tournament in the future.

Today, started the World Championship in Trampoline gymnastics. The capital of Japan, Tokyo is hosting this event, and 336 gymnasts from 37 nations are participating. This Championship is one of the major qualification events for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games for the trampoline gymnasts. The best 8 woman and 8 man gymnasts will get the Tokyo2020 qualification places. Georgia is represented by two gymnasts leading Georgian trampoline gymnasts: Luba Golovina and Tengizi Koshkadze. Just know we got the qualification round results and we can congratulate Luba Golovina with her place among the best 24 gymnasts in the Semi-Finals.

Last week, in France was held, 27th International Gymnastics Tournament Daniel D’Amato Le Blanc-Mesnil. 75 gymnasts from 10 countries had participated at the tournament. For the first time , among other were our gymnasts: MAG Levan Skhiladze and WAG Ani Gobadze. Levan Skhiladze on the exercise with Vault got the the Bronze medal. And Ani Gobadze had qualified for the two finals: Vault and Floor exercise. Well done to our gymnast , and we wish them good luck in the future!

Last week, city of Sofia (Bulgaria) hosted the UEG Congress. Representatives of the member Federations of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) met for the biennial General Assembly. 47 of the 50 National Federations attended. Among them was the President of United Georgian Gymnastics Federation Mr. Konstantin Lashkhi. The debates have resulted in the following official decisions and information: The minutes of the 2017 General Assembly in Split (CRO) were approved.
