LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, 7 July 2020
The 83rd FIG Congress, originally scheduled to take place in Antalya, Turkey from 23 to 25 October 2020, has been officially postponed until October 2021. It will be held from 29 to 31 October 2021.
The Portuguese city of Santarem is hosting the Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup. Among the participants are members of our national team: Luba Golovina, Anano Afakidze, Mariam Ragimovi and Teona Janjghava. Competition is held both in individual discipline and between synchronized pairs. Qualifying stages were held yesterday. Luba Golovina, Anano Afakidze and Mariam Ragimov successfully passed the individual qualification and reached the semi-finals, but, unfortunately, none of them made it to the finals. As for the synchronized pairs, the Apakidze-Ragimov pair made it to the finals. They competed very well in the finals and won bronze medals! This year is the first time our trampoline players are participating in an international tournament abroad, and these medals are doubly important! We congratulate Anano and Mariam on this success and wish them future victories! Tomorrow our team will go to Coimbra (Portugal) where the next World Cup will be held. We wish success to our team!
