City of Holon (Israel) is hosting the European Championships and the same city already hosted the Age Group Competitions in Acrobatic gymnastics. Our gymnasts in Men's group age category 12-18 : OKROPIRIDZE GIORGI, MARIDASHVILI SABA, KHMALADZE GIORGI and CHANADIRI GIORGI had done a good job and they had got places in the Finals. In the final our group lost just a bit to the Germany and finaly we got the fourth place. Well done guys, we wish you all the best in future!
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia hold an annual award ceremony *The Sportsperson of the Year*. Awards were given out in 11 different categories and also, 10 special prizes were awarded.
For the first time in the history the title of the Best Sportsperson of the Year were given to 6 athletes at once: Lukhum Chkhvimini (Judo), Lasha Talakhdze (Weightlifting), Geno Petriashvili (Free Style Wrestling), Lasha Gobadze (Greek-Roman Wrestling), Beka Lomtadze (Free Style Wrestling), Nugzar Tsurtsumia (Greek-Roman Wrestling).
United Georgian Gymnastics Federation were awarded with one title and one special ward.
