Last week, the capital of Azerbaijan city of Baku held the FIG Congress. Representatives of all gymnastics federations and affiliated clubs and unions were presented at the congress. Congress was called to decide some major flagship projects and plans.
Among the delegates was the President of the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation Mr. Konstantin Lashkhi who had some important meetings as with colleagues form other Federations, also, with some FIG and the UEG authorities.
The Congress had made some decisions, such were for instance:
--the Congress has accepted the creation of an independent ‘’Gymnastics Ethics Foundation’’
--the FIG now counts a total of 148 member federation. The continental distribution is as follows: Europe-50 members, Asia-37 members, the Americas-30 members, Africa-24 members, and Oceania -7 members.
