On 23-28 October city of Tbilisi held an Medea Jugheli International tournament in Artistic gymnastics ''MEDEA CUP''. Medea "Mzia" Jugeli was a Georgian artistic gymnast. She competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics, finishing within top 15 in all artistic gymnastics events, and winning one gold and one silver medal. She was the first Georgian woman who won the Olympic medal. She won seven national titles in the vault, in 1946, 1947 and 1951–1955. She was the honorable Sports master of the USSR, and Honorable person sports person of Georgia. At this first tournament had participated 40 gymnast from 4 countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgian and Islamic Republic of Iran. Gymnasts competed Team, All-Around and Apparatus competitions.
