FIG Congress in Tashkent

Lausanne (SUI) / Tashkent FIG Head Office, October 26, 2014: From October 29-30, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) will hold its 80th Congress and General Assembly in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent. Of 134 FIG affiliated or associate federations to date, 75 have signed up.

united georgian gymnastics federation will be represented by two deleGATES: THE PRESIDENT OF FEDERATION MR. KONSTANTIN LASHKHI AND VICE-PRESIDENT OF FEDERATION MR. BESARION GAMSAKHURDIA. The ordinary Congress will bring together some 260 delegates from five continents. Outgoing President, Prof. Bruno Grandi (ITA), who has held FIG leadership since 1996, will lead the General Assembly.

Among the many statutory topics to be discussed in Tashkent, members will discuss proposals for modifications to the Statutes put forth by both affiliated members and elected FIG authorities.

The assembly will give its decision on the admission of new federations, the updating of the Code of Ethics and the attribution of the 2016 Congress, at which time the FIG will elect its new authorities for the 2017 – 2020 cycle.

Two cities are candidates: Tokyo (JPN) and Orlando (USA).
